Every RCI Starlite™ shell is hand formed from scratch at the now legendary US based RCI bespoke workshop.
Shells are constructed from a 'Super Tough' hardened acrylic polymer, engineered by RCI and made in the USA.
The shells are formed, highly polished, balanced, acrylic welded at the seams and then treated to our superior bearing edges. The result is a beautiful resonant Starlite™ shell with “True Continuous Vibration” Copyright ©

So they look amazing, but how do they sound?
...well, in a word...Amazing!
Innovation in shell construction has resulted in truly resonant instruments. These drums are acoustically perfect as well as aesthetically. Imagine a cross between a steel and a maple shell.
A combination of RCI Starlite™ shell design, RCI special heads and precision bearing edges, have produced optimum sound through acrylic material. Great top and bottom end sound with great punch. Snare drums have fantastic attack and an awesome rim shot, whilst retaining sensitivity for ghost notes.
You simply cannot get a better acrylic snare drum on the market, full stop.
Rack toms are warm and have great punch and sustain, whilst floor toms are like rolls of thunder! the bass drums deliver amazing bottom end, like cannons, for that perfect kick.

We do not use cheap, imported shells from the far east as our competitors do! Their drums are built using weak acrylic material, the dreaded 'support tabbed' seams and even worse, cut down shells...
RCI Starlite™ acrylic welded, sealed shell and the competitors ('Support tab' holding the seam together) were sent to an Acoustic Vibration Specialist, the RCI shell being the obvious victor.
With RCI Starlite™ shells, vibration passes through the entire shell giving it the utmost in acoustic tonal qualities.
"Top, mid, and bottom end tonal qualities suffered due to the competitors 'Support tab' shell design. All vibration went to the weakest part of the shell...the seam".
The best drum builders know that a sealed shell is crucial to top end tuning - air should be controlled through the venting.
RCI are the revolution!
